CATHERINE BRITT RETURNS WITH FIRST SINGLE FROM NEXT CAREER ALBUM

On her brand-new single, ‘One Divorce, Two Kids & A Few Whiskies Ago’, Catherine Britt reminds us why her name is synonymous with country music.

There is an authenticity to her music that is gritty and honest - you can feel she has lived every word and survived to tell the tale.

“This song sums up this next chapter for me”, says Catherine. “It’s raw and honest and comes from a place of rest, resilience and determination. I have lived a full life of adventure, challenges and wonder and this song is where I have ended up after it all”.

Having a career that has spanned over 20 years, the award-winning singer-songwriter has constantly allowed listeners into her most real moments through her songs.

“What a journey it’s been this life of mine. A fast paced and exciting music career starting in my teens to now, there is just too much to put into a 3-minute song, but I did my best with this one”.

“In an industry as cut-throat and fast paced as the music industry, I have spent most of it holding my breath and bracing for what’s next. That can be thrilling yet terrifying at the same time. It has taken me all over the world and taught me every lesson a young woman needs to survive the dark shadows and evil villains of life’s pathways.”

Catherine Britt is one of the most successful artists in Australian country music. She is a five-time Golden Guitar Award winner, six-time ARIA Award Best Country Album nominee, signed to RCA in the US at just 17, earned two US Billboard Top 40 Chart singles, toured and worked with everyone from Brooks & Dunn to Alan Jackson to Dolly Parton, is the youngest Australian ever to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and recorded a duet with Sir Elton John.

‘One Divorce, Two Kids & A Few Whiskies Ago’ is the first single lifted from her anticipated nineth studio album, ‘The Hardest Thing’ – the follow up to 2021’s #1 album, ‘Home Truths’. Taking the reins again as producer - this time with husband, Bradley Bergen - she made the conscious choice to record the album at home without too much outside influence.

“I am grateful to still be making music and feeling just as excited about sharing it with the world as I did my first single in 1999. Introducing a new and better version of Catherine Britt”.

‘One Divorce, Two Kids & A Few Whiskies Ago’ is out Fri 26 September via Red Rebel Music / MGM Distribution.

ALLY ROW RELEASE SCORCHING DEBUT ALBUM

It’s been a rapid rise for Gippsland duo, Ally Row, who burst onto the indie alt-country scene just a few short years ago with the delightful debut, ‘why do I care’. Fast forward to 2025, the duo is pleased to announce their debut album, ‘Something More’, on Friday 19th September 2025.

The duo of Alice Fitzgerald and Rowan Sizer have honed their craft, continue to build a loyal and hardcore fan base and caught the ear of many in the industry with their modern take on folk rock.

The album highlights the exciting songs of Ally Row from their rollicking, foot stomping, good time anthems to their poignant and fragile ballads that conjure nostalgia complete with beautiful strings performed by Robyn Blann.

The majority of ‘Something More’ was recorded, mixed and produced by Spud Thompson at Elusive Creative Studios and mastered by Nick Franklin (Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys/ Ocean Alley/ Custard).

Named winners of the 2023 Triple J Unearthed NYE on the Hill Fest competition, things really started to connect for Ally Row in 2024 when their track, ‘The Great Unknown’, was picked by ABC Country and added to high rotation on the network. Subsequent high rotation additions came in the form of ‘This Time’, ‘Middle of the Road’, ‘Hold Me Now’ and the latest, ‘Something More’.

Ally Row is a high-energy folk-rock duo who name check Of Monsters & Men, The Lumineers and Aussie icons The Bushwackers as key influences on their sound. They have opened shows for ARIA Award winners, Fanny Lumsden & William Crighton, folk legend Kim Churchhill and have just been announced as support for Irish duo, DUG, at Meeniyan Town Hall VIC during their first Australian tour. In January 2025 they performed on the Tamworth Country Music Festival mainstage twice including for a spot on Americana in the Park to over 5,000. Ally Row will also play Groundwater Country Music Festival in October and the prestigious Queenscliffe Music Festival in November plus support the award winning, Melody Moko during her 2026 Tamworth Country Music show.

‘Something More’ proves that Ally Row has no intention of slowing down – they are laser focused on continuing the momentum to build a career of longevity and a robust catalogue of simply great music. Get on board now!

THE ICONIC GRAEME CONNORS & LINC PHELPS PUT NEW SPIN ON AUSSIE CLASSIC

Graeme Connors has been one of Australian music’s most loved, awarded and respected singer-songwriters for decades. Growing up in Gympie with his parents playing all of Connors’ hits, for Linc Phelps - ‘Prodigal Son’ was a clear favourite.

Connors’ albums were full of familiar tales for Phelps growing up in rural Queensland and a constant companion for the budding singer-songwriter. Connors became a great source of inspiration for the type of songs he wanted to write and record - real songs about real people and real places. Songs that could really move you and then in a heartbeat, make you laugh and smile.

Fast forward to 2025, and Phelps is standing face to face with Connors in a recording studio trading lines with the man himself.

“If you were to tell a 12-year-old me that 20 years down the track I would be in a recording studio with one of my and my dad’s music heroes, I would have told you, I can only dream!”

As Linc explains, “After watching Graeme’s show at the Muster last year, I nervously picked up the phone and took a chance. I was blown away when his answer was an instant yes – and here we are - Graeme Connors and I making music together!”

Graeme Connors adds: “For a songwriter, the ultimate compliment is to have an artist of substance record his or her song. So, you can well imagine how excited I was to hear that Linc Phelps was going to reinterpret one of my personal favourites, ‘Prodigal Son’ – then in one of those ‘not only but also’ moments, Linc asked if I’d like to join him on the record … Yes! Yes! Yes!”

While there are hundreds of songs in the Graeme Connors catalogue that would have been perfect to record, Phelps kept coming back to one – ‘Prodigal Son’.

“I chose Prodigal Son because the story of a small-town boy returning home resonates with me on so many levels. Graeme and I laughed a lot recording the line “the humidity and the flies, clashed with the stars in his eyes”. I feel that every day during a QLD Summer!”

The pair hit the studio to record ‘Prodigal Son’ with Linc’s key creative team of producer, Gavin Carfoot and Jared Adlam to record and mix. Fleshing out the musical line up were talented friends Peter Cooper (Guitar), Scott Greenaway (Bass) and Scott Hills (Drums). The mix was then sent off to the legendary mastering engineer, Paul Blakey, to add the final layer of polish.

“Graeme’s legacy of incredible songs are an inspiration for a songwriter like me”, says Phelps. “To work with him and now have our voices together to form part of my legacy is a dream come true.”

Linc Phelps & Graeme Connors, ‘Prodigal Son, is Friday 1st August 2025 through Red Rebel Music / MGM Distribution.

BERNARD ZUEL REVIEWS GENEVIEVE CHADWICK'S "BEST LEFT FOR THE WILLING"

Some people sound preternaturally lived: grizzled and roughened, aged by experience as much as actual years. It’s a handy thing. When you get someone young sounding like this, it can blow you away (God, she sounds like a 50-year-old Alabama woman who has been doing this since the last days of Stax) or it can seduce you (jeez, he must have been hurt and rebuilt a few times on the back of pain), while distracting you from some home truths.

Namely, they haven’t really done any of those things or understand the life mechanics underpinning real insights; they just have the sound and the expressive veneer. Sure, that can work for a while, but the façade eventually peels away and the empty interior just disappoints.

That’s not gonna happen here. Genevieve Chadwick, arriving with her third album a decade after its predecessor, boasting a voice that can power through its upper register showing only a thin scraping, and bend its mid-range without having to get guttural, is past being some ingénue here for distraction.

GENEVIEVE CHADWICK OFFERS UP SECOND SINGLE, “HEADLIGHTS”, FROM FORTHCOMING NEW ALBUM

Genevieve Chadwick releases “Headlights” - the second single lifted from her eagerly awaited new album – her first in over ten years -“Best Left For the Willing”, slated for release in the second half of the year.

“Headlights” plunges into the restless search for direction amid uncertainty. It highlights the feeling of standing at a crossroads, where clarity flickers between the contrasts of light and shadow, hope and doubt. The lyrics carry a raw, almost primal energy, as if the song itself is howling for a sign to guide the way forward. The music amplifies this sense of urgency – its rhythm pulsing like a heartbeat on the edge of decision.

“In the face of the unknown, there’s an intense plea for guidance”, says Genevieve. “It explores what it means to be at the mercy of forces beyond control, yet amidst this turbulence, there’s a quiet surrender”.

“Headlights” leaves you suspended in that powerful moment of hesitation, where the journey ahead is uncertain but the resolve to move forward is undeniable.

LINC PHELPS ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, “FAITH & SWEAT” – FRI 7 MARCH 2025

Never one to shy away from writing songs that are deeply personal, Linc will release his sophomore album, “Faith & Sweat”, on Friday 7th March 2025. As the title suggests, it’s been a long period of faith, blood, sweat and tears to get to this point.

The album has already produced four hit singles - his #1 smash, “Hundred Percent”, crowd favourite “Workin’ on Me”, “Sing A Little Louder” and the stunning duet, “Dear Mind”, with Golden Guitar Award winner, Melody Moko.

Produced by Gavin Carfoot (Max Jackson/James Johnston/Loren Ryan) and mixed by Jared Adlam (James Johnston/Denvah/Chloe Styler), they intentionally set out to capture the energy and magic of Linc Phelps live. Tracking live with his touring band at QUT Studios in Brisbane, the result is 10 incredible tracks that ooze the essence of Linc Phelps.

“Faith & Sweat” opens with the title track and one that is reminiscent of classic Cold Chisel. It talks about how good things come and challenges can be conquered if you believe and put in the effort. “Workin’ On Me”, puts his life front and centre by paying tribute to the people who shaped him into the man he is today. “Hundred Percent” speaks of moving through life in an authentic way and being committed in whatever you do.

“Dear Mind” was one of those songs that just came to him instantly after hearing the phrase on the television in the background. He was texting with his friend Melody Moko that same day and casually chatting about their lives, challenges, music and the overwhelming feeling of ‘spinning your wheels’. Linc sent Melody the song and she instantly said yes to recording it as a duet.

“Sing A Little Louder” was co-written with the award winning, The Wolfe Brothers, and is an anthem for everyone who have ever felt the world is just too much and you’re not being seen or heard no matter how hard you try.

“Country Singer” is a true country tune singing the tale of how a country singer can help you through the tough times life frequently brings while “Another Whiskey” is a rollicking, feel good bar room anthem.

“Coffee, Whiskey and Love” is an emotive and bluesy number co-written with Gavin Carfoot, Nolan Wynne and Mel Lukin. “Old Gympie Road” takes Phelps in a harder direction with a true story about the region he grew up and still lives with his family. Both songs would not feel out of place on a Chris Stapleton album.

The album closes with the highly personal, “Green Valley”, a song written and dedicated to the memory of his baby daughter, Denver Grace.

Linc Phelps is often referred to as one of Australian country music’s best kept secrets – “Faith & Sweat” is evident that that secret will not remain for much longer.

Born and bred in Gympie, Linc Phelps is one of those salt of the earth people that is known far and wide in the tight knit Australian country music industry as a good bloke, great performer and singer and all-round legend. He proudly wears his heart on his sleeve both in life and via song. It’s a rare quality that speaks so loudly to his character and attitude towards being a songwriter, singer, performer, husband, father and friend.

Linc Phelps “Faith & Sweat” is our Friday 7th March 2025 through Red Rebel Music / MGM Distribution.

“The lyrics delve into escapism and the consequences of not facing the truth”, explains Genevieve.

“Wildfire is a call to confront the chaos within, despite the costs and fallout, reminding us that true transformation often begins with an honest reckoning”.

The track is produced by Genevieve along with long-time Kasey Chambers collaborator and drummer, Syd Green at his Jervis Bay Recording Studios. LINC PHELPS TEAMS WITH MELODY MOKO ON
STUNNING NEW DUET, “DEAR MIND

There’s good reason why Linc Phelps is fast becoming one of Australia’s most talked about new artists. Not only can he bring the fun and the power via his music, but he also has a gentle and emotive side that often moves people to tears.

His new single, “Dear Mind” – is a stunning duet with Golden Guitar Award winner, Melody Moko, that touches on the often a taboo subject of mental health.

“It was a bleak winters day, the kind of day where you just want to stay in bed and hide from the world”, says Linc. “I was having a coffee with my wife, Stace, and talking about the million things we both had to do that day with no idea where to begin. The TV was on in the background, and I heard the words ‘Dear Mind’ mentioned. I wandered off to do some chores and within minutes I had half the song written. Feeling I was on to something, I returned to the kitchen to run it past Stace and from there we sat down and together and wrote the rest of the song”.

Linc says, that same morning he was texting back and forth with his good friend, Melody Moko. They were casually chatting about their lives, challenges, music and the overwhelming feeling of ‘spinning your wheels’. The door opened for Linc to tell Melody about the song he and Stace had just written.

“I sent Melody the song, she loved it so, I asked her to sing on it. When she recorded the vocal in the studio Stace and I cried because it was so beautiful – the conviction and pain in her voice - it was made for her!”

“Dear Mind” is the fourth single from Linc’s brand new album, “Faith & Sweat”, set for release on Friday 7th March 2025. It is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking featuring the unison of two of the best voices in Australian music and two great friends.
